A Book Of Roses.
Pictures of the same roses that were used to make the wall of the ceremonial room, assembled and printed as a book. Each rose is shown in its normal environment, with a simple text with name and significance. Each left-hand page has a pictogram with the rose's location on the wall.
There is a copy of the book in the ceremonial room, which is a quiet room for the inhabitants of the nursing home. They can visit any time and bring their family, friends and the nursing staff. Most of the people living here suffer from dementia, so the simplicity of the concept -- for example being able to recognise a specific rose, appreciate an environment or simply evoke memories from a long life -- has been important when gathering the material. The book's small format creates an intimate situation in which people can look, recognise and remember together.
