“ZOETROPE”
Zoetrope is a complex installation that involves a designed
computer programme and an operable weather station for the schoolchildren to use in combination with their own laptops.

A large structure with layers of glass, light and perforated aluminum is powered by a windmill (wind turbine) placed on the roof right above it. When the wind blows, the aluminum wheel turns, and reveals butterflies and kite tails in motion, using the late 19th century principle of old drawn animation, or Zoetropes. In the center of the construction the school clock is located.
The same windmill also powers an indoor wall with 12circular lights that light
up according to the current wind velocity. The lights show 12 butterflies that
exist in the local area of the school, all listed as being endangered by
environmental lack of diversity or naturally habitats.
On the same wall is a digital board that shows how much power the wind is
generating in kwh and mps. This information, together with the weather-
bank gives useful information for the students to handle.
